Up until 1998 very few records existed for mosses and liverworts at Wimpole, that is until the local byrological society came by. They have managed, over a number of years, to add over 100 species of byrophytes aka mosses & liverworts. Wimpole Bryophytes records.             Some, like this one, are relatively rare in Cambridgeshire and is usually found on old trees in ancient unspoilt places. Wimpole seems to have a very good population.  We will add more to this page shortly, but in the meantime you can find more information about byrophytes at the Byrological Society.
