Diary of Natural Environment In and Around Wimpole
I decided to have a bath before taking the dogs out for their daily walk, went into the bathroom and I was beaten to it – there in the bath was what seemed an enormous Roesels Bush Cricket. It must have been the white colour of the bath that gave it the appearance of being bigger than an African Locust. It was duly removed into the garden and then photographed.
As I was taking the photo I noticed an early morning Hover Fly so took a shot of him whilst I had the camera out.
Later I set off with the dogs for our walk and in the early morning Sun was a Holly Blue butterfly, I haven’t seen many on Wimpole Estate so this was a pleasant addition to the start of the day. They never seem to settle with thier wings open which…
